Watching the conduct of others and myself, I noticed a pattern—familiar, regardless of race or sex. We are quick to give unnecessary opinions without grace or mercy. What you condemn in others will creep up on you. Our unrighteous judgments will catch up with us. We move five steps forward, only to repeat the behaviors we criticized.
Falling into the lie of “individuality,” have we become so callous and self-righteous that we are impatient with one another, assuming we can do no wrong? We think so highly of ourselves, exalting our views and decisions. In all these observations, I saw that I too was both a perpetrator and a "victim." With our minds so entangled in our false perceptions, we deceive ourselves. This makes us cautious about our thoughts and what we say about others. It is difficult to comfort each other in our woes and trials when we continue to cling to the character of victimhood. We choose tainted portrayals to present to others. When will the masks fall off, showing the world that we are broken and in need of a Savior?
We have more in common than we'd like to accept.

Self-awareness through the lens of the Holy Spirit and Scripture - so important! Great words my friend!
This is such a profound message. We are in fact much more alike in our faults than we’d like to admit. Often instead of choosing to be honest and vulnerable and support one another/ hold each other accountable, we fall victim to the sin of pride and ego. Thank you for these words, Lola. Your insight is a gift from God keep sharing!🩷
Wow wow and wow. This was a nice read. God knows and reads our thoughts. Who are we fooling when we think negatively about others. We should always practice pointing out the qualities we see in us to others and if we do judge them, we should think before we do it, asking ourselves first, is this something in me that I see before pointing it out on others. Maybe that will help us with our soul search and release anything that is not of God.
I love this transparency. Some of us are hiding under hypocrisy until the Lord breaks our hearts to fear Him.
Beautiful and powerful image. Self-deception is a disease based in our pride. Thank you for writing about this.
